Description
Another piece for a contest.
is holding a contest called "Imagination". Contestants are required to create a work based on her pieces and the work must include colors but no straight lines are allowed.
Now, my angular style means that, more often than not, there are loads of straight lines in my work so this contest is an opportunity for me to go outside my comfort zone & create something more fluid & curvy.
Inspiration :
This is based on Amy's piece, Aquatic Dream. But how exactly did the aquatics become hair? Simple. When I first saw Amy's rich, colorful works, I was immediately reminded of clothes designed by fashion guru Christian Lacroix. So I decided to take the fashion route with this piece but I didn't want to paint gowns etc cos that wud be so predictable. So I thought, why not hairstyle. Hair can be fluid & have great movement just like the ocean so hairstyle it is!

The brown circles/bubbles are actually done using gold gouache but scanner turned them brown! Oh well.
